XDC BRIMSTONE

Retirement....that was my fate. I had done all I could, yet there was much more to be done. Too old, so they said. Ha! I could still run circles around these new guys, that call themselves "Aces". What could I do? The war, and my so called superiors, did not interest me anymore. These "superiors", who spent their time in the rear theatre, knew nothing of the hardships, the losses, or the fear that we gear pilots had to deal with each day.
My mind is made up! Nothing, and no one can stop me. I have nothing to go home to, the war took care of that. I will take the best gear I can find, and head out into the Badlands to end my life in a glorious, against-all-odds battle.
All went well until I reached the Badlands. I'd never been in these parts before. We were told that it was off-limits to us, and the other side never came here either. There were rumors, well really a story of a mythical rogue band of gear pilots, that were supposed to inhabit this desolate landscape. With some trepidation, I entered. After what seemed an eternity, and having come across nobody, I decided to leave.
At that exact moment, I took two rounds to my chest. It knocked me over. Where the hell did that come from? I then had my gear leg removed, as if by some laser surgeon.
This was not what I had in mind. I lay there, helpless, expecting a shameful, stupid death.
A voice came over my Sat.Com. "Who are you, and why have you invaded our territory?"
I replied with the events that led to this, and requested a quick, honourable death. He did not kill me, in fact he said nothing at all. Instead he stepped out of his gear, and invited me out to talk. He said that he had heard of me, I was surprised. Throughout our discussion I was very impressed with his manner and bearing. He invited me to join the XDC, the rulers of the Badlands. After some thought, I accepted.
He, is XDC-KILLERKON. I am now XDC-BRIMSTONE, for I would follow him to the depths of hell.
Beware all who seek to dishonour us, for Brimstone will rain down upon your head as a reply!
Fear the Lightning!
